Why Choose an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)?Hawthorn Surgery Center is an ASC. We provide surgical services to patients who do not require a hospital stay. Approximately 80% of all surgical procedures are currently performed in an ASC setting. Typically, ASCs charge less than hospitals. According to Federal data, Medicare patients who have a procedure at an ASC pay an average 41% less out of pocket expense.
